Learning and Memory: Using the radial arm maze with wild-type and IL-16 knockout mice.

We've gathered these together primarily as examples of how behavior varies in the radial arm maze and what a running experiment looks like.

Wild Type Control in the Radial Arm Maze.

This wild type mouse has been trained to find the hidden food at the end of the arms in this 8 arm radial maze.

IL-16 knock-out mouse in the Radial Arm Maze.

This IL-16 knock-out mouse has been genetically engineered without a protein in its brain that is important in learning and memory. You can see the behavioral impairment clearly with 4 long term errors and 1 short term error shown.
